Seminar about the ATEX explosion protection directive, 2014/34/EU

ATEX is a French acronym standing for ATmosphère EXplosibles. The ATEX directive of the European Union provides for protective rules for potentially explosive atmospheres.

  • Operator directive: “Directive 1999/92/EG of the European Parliament and Council of 16 December 1999 concerning minimum requirements for improving the safety and health protection of workers potentially at risk due to potentially explosive atmospheres (fifteenth individual directive in the sense of article 16 section 1 of Directive 89/391/EEC)”
  • Explanation of physical fundamentals (definition of explosion, occurrence of explosive atmospheres, possible sources of ignition)
